Arts & Sciences

The SCA is much more than just fighting.  For those who find heavy or rapier a spectator sport, a snooze, or just too sweaty, there is a cerebral and creative part of the society. The Arts & Sciences encompass a huge variety of skills and trades. There seems to be something for nearly everyone.

Active participation is the goal of the Society.  We encourage you to try anything you're interested in.  If there's something not currently being done in our area please contract the Minister of Arts and Sciences.  Part of the MoAS's job is help find resources.

Have you ever wondered what separates the Arts from the Sciences?  Generally, an Art is creating something beautiful, whether music, theatre or a meal. A Science is figuring out how things works and how to make things. Here are some examples of what's an Art and what's a Science according to the SCA.  These are Competitive Categories for the Northshield A&S Triathlon.
